INTRODUCTION

USelf is a student support app created for people who feel unsure about their major, career path, or future direction. I designed this project around the idea that students do not always need one perfect answer right away; sometimes they need a calm space to reflect, explore, and take small steps forward. The app uses mood check-ins, interest quizzes, career suggestions, journaling, and mentor connections to make decision-making feel less overwhelming. My goal was to create an experience that feels gentle, personal, and supportive, helping students move from confusion toward clarity at their own pace.

DESIGNING METHOD

For USelf, I used a human-centered design process focused on students’ emotions, uncertainty, and decision-making. I started with research, personas, empathy maps, journey maps, and “How Might We” questions to better understand what students need when they feel lost about their future. From there, I developed user flows, paper prototypes, visual systems, and app screens that use soft colors, simple language, and clear steps to make the experience feel calm, supportive, and personal.
