INTRODUCTION
13.8 Billion is a universe-themed magazine inspired by the estimated age of the universe. This project explores how editorial design can make space science feel more emotional, visual, and exciting to read. I used dark imagery, circular forms, orbit-like lines, and strong typography to create a mysterious and immersive atmosphere. The magazine is designed to make topics like the Milky Way, time warps, and black holes feel less distant and more engaging, turning scientific ideas into a visual experience.
DESIGNING METHOD
For this magazine, I started with research on space topics like the Milky Way, time warps, and black holes, then looked for ways to translate those ideas into a visual reading experience. I explored dark imagery, circular forms, orbit-like lines, scale, contrast, and futuristic typography to build the magazine’s atmosphere. My process focused on creating strong editorial rhythm, so each page feels informative but still immersive and visually exciting.
